Prometheus Spawning Grounds - version 7, beta

Quake

Quake 1 is one of my favourite games. I started a mod myself once, but id used some sort of wierd linked funtion list for the animations and AI, which was too much work for me to change. I would've liked to use a generic think function for all the monsters and an array for the animations instead (Q1C doesn't have arrays but frika's compiler added it).
I still finished some things, like a new weapon, the 'marauder shotgun', which was the SNG shooting shotgun bursts. I also altered the grunts so they had nail pistols. The zombies regenerated and was not invulnerable to lesser weapons, you just had to damage them faster than they regenerated. I changed their gib throwing funtion so they could aim up and down (with a random aim). The enforcers got a RL (same as the player) and they could aim ahead of you, making them deadly. The Shalrath projectile was fun to change. It acted more like a homing missie (no instant turns) but sometimes went off in a random direction to throw you off. I made Shub fire them out of the top of its head.
The main feature however was the factions. I divided the monsters into Humanoids, Midieval and Demons, then I made them attack each other on sight. It was a lot of fun watching say a ton of Grunts and Enforcers trying to defend against Fiends, Shalraths and Shamblers.
Anyways, It seems I have no new 'quake fanart' or redesigns scanned. These are all a couple of years old.

Screenshot paintover. Hind leg is too much sausage, needs tendons and muscle definition. Otherwise I think it works, no need to fix what isn't broken.

I amped up the legs here, and also made a queen version, cuz I like the light, medium, heavy approach to design. Ooops I think the width of this image broke the layout, seems like the divs don't stretch after image content. Oh well, you'll just have to live with it.

Older:
This was done with ink. It was my version of the hellknight, although I'll probably change the design if I decide to draw it again.. I also got an acrylic colored version of this here.

When I first heard about Q1 model editors I quickly designed some more exotic characters, and 'Bloodclaw' was one of them. He's got a nasty close combat claw-finger and a cluster of mini missile launchers mounted on his remaining arm. Pencil and quick colors in a multiply layer (Photoshop as usual). Yes, it's an old drawing. I sort of like the concept though.
